The Unimog for Contractors

One investment, countless tasks

For a contractor or service provider, every machine sitting idle represents a cost. The Unimog answers that challenge with a fundamentally different approach: a single chassis, dozens of interchangeable implements, and the ability to switch from one task to another in a matter of minutes.

Mowing verges in the morning, snow clearing at night, road sweeping during the week and earthworks at the weekend: the Unimog generates revenue twelve months a year, whereas a specialised machine sits unused for half of it.

The quick-attach system: the heart of versatility

The Unimog’s modular system is built around standardised front and rear interfaces. Every implement, whether a mowing head, a front loader, a tipper body or a high-pressure washer, mounts and dismounts without any special tools. A single operator is all it takes.

This modular architecture also means that any new implement purchased fits every Unimog in the fleet straight away. No duplication of equipment, no machine-specific training: the same operating logic applies across all vehicles.

Technical capability on the job site

The Unimog implement carrier delivers up to 354 hp and a hydraulic output of 250 l/min, enough to power the most demanding attachments. Its seven simultaneous coupling points allow multiple implements to be combined in a single pass: sweeping and watering at the same time, or mowing and vacuuming green waste without a second run.

Its road speed of up to 90 km/h means it can reach scattered job sites quickly, which is critical for companies covering several municipalities or industrial zones. And off-road, the portal axles and high ground clearance give access to unpaved work areas without any additional equipment.

Year-round profitability

Contractors running multiple services find in the Unimog a fast-payback solution: one vehicle, one insurance policy, one maintenance contract, but income generated across four seasons. Green space maintenance in spring and summer, handling leaf and green waste in autumn, and winter road service from December through March complete the cycle.

Compared with purchasing specialised machines for each service, the economic case for the Unimog is clear-cut for businesses that know how to diversify their activities.
